- Nati Carrera: Yes! If anything what the people in the Arizona Ethnic Studies Program should inspire us to do is not only fight back but push forward. All those students were so much more conscious and critical because of their participation in the ethnic... studies program. A way to academically engage students so that they read better, write better and even do better on math!?! Yes, please! Plus, they are more likely to go to college! You want an anti-gang program, an anti-drop out program and something to get students on track for higher education, then ethnic studies is where it's at. We should be promoting programs like this for our youth all over the place.
